The flickering light from the candles filled the room. He knew he could just flip the light switch but the candlelight always seemed to help him focus. Just like the old days. Domino sat at the desk in his room at Corin's looking over his notes. Papers strewn all over the desk and room. The only time the assamite left the room was the occasional thirst which was easily satiated with a couple bottles from downstairs. He had been isolated for nights from the others. He had pieces to the puzzle layed infront of him, if only he could figure it all out. Of all that he had seen and learn, those pieces of knowledge laying about were the most enthralling. Domino began mumbling to himself. He stood up and walked to the middle of the room, stepping over notes as he went. Still talking to himself, he began to pace back and forth across the small patch of open floor he left so he could get in and out.

Corin knew Domino hadn't been out since court, and that he was working way too hard. Hearing the pacing from inside the room she knocks on the door and waits.

Domino is almost too out of it to hear the knocking. He paces over and opens the door. As he opens it he doesn't even raise his head, still staring down as he goes back to pacing. Domino continues the quiet mumbling as Corin stands at the open doorway.

Corin looks around the room, glancing at the paperwork and the candles she shakes her head. She moves over and steps in front of him.

"Domino, you need to take a break."

Stopping dead in his tracks, domino finally stops mumbling and raises his head. Once he does he notices Corin's face is a mere inch from his.

"What, are you serious? There is much to do."

Lauren Nichol

"And you have the rest of eternity to do it. You NEED to get out of here. You can't stay couped up here."

She shakes her head.

"I should have never set up that appointment with you and Pius. If I had known that this is what would happen."

She lets out a sigh

"Domino, please. Come out with me tonight. Let me show you the City."

Domino takes a moment to ponder the offer before looking back to the table.

"Hmm, maybe clearing my mind may help me. And I guess that you won't leave me be unless I agree to it, will you?"

Corin smiles at him then shrugs her shoulders.

"Well probably not. I'd most likely stay here in the room, following you around, blowing out your candles..."

She smiles.

"You need this Domino."

Domino looks down at his green cloak and simple black cotton clothes underneath.

"Corin, if you haven't noticed, I don't exactly fit in with society. I can just write off my skin as strange but as for THESE, well, they are not the normal attire of this century."
