Sabre slipped into the club minus his usual flare for making his presence known, instead he just quietly skirted the outside edge of the club until he reached the VIP entrance. He didn't know what had drawn him to the establishment of his Liege, but he just didn't know of anywhere else to go. He quietly made his way up the stairs and once inside the VIP room, he took a seat in a corner, to sit in the dark. He pulled out his new iPhone and stared at it for a long while. He didn't even know why he was tempted to text Kirsi. Maybe it was the sinking feeling he had acquired ever since he saw Alayna with Christian yet again. The feelings of betrayal continued to creep into his mind since and now, he understood how Kirsi had been feeling. After a while, he decided to just send her a text message, "Kirsi, could you meet me at Club Indigo?" |

There is no reply to the text, instead the door to the VIP room opens up and the large ghoul bodyguard Kirsi's uncle had assigned to protect her entered and then, so did she. Kirsi's hair was it's natural black, no roots or strange dye. Her skin had become seemingly softer and warmer in color since he'd last saw her and her cheeks had filled out some with the weight she was gaining at a rapid pace. If he didn't know she was carrying twins he might assume she was further along than she actually was. Her maternity dress is black, designer label and very conservative... in fact, she looks much like she did the first night she met him... not at all edgy like the spirted girl who jumped in the driver seat of his car to best Cody Wrangler or who had tried so hard to fain bravery the night he recieved his marks by the Giovanni. Crossing the room with practiced grace, she seems to float. Her dress flows from one side to the other as her hips still retain some of her youthful grace, her belly not yet big enough to force her into waddling. Indeed, she had quickly become the image of the healthy young mother who wore her title well. If possible, it seemed that pregnancy had made her more beautiful, as if she was one of those women who was born to do just this. Her right hand rests on the swell of her belly as she approaches Sabre and she lets herself smile ever so. "I was downstairs looking over the list of bands for next month. Tino has me all but running this place now." She draws a long breath and exhales slowly. "How are you?" She doesn't sit, there is a tension between the two of you now ... as if she has a wall up that she is careful not to let down. Truly it seems she meant her words when you last spoke. Kirsi is not ready to allow herself to be hurt again... maybe never again. |

Sabre looks at her and offers her a weak but genuine smile. He couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked in her pregnancy. As she grew closer to the table he stood up as a gentleman would. As she asked how he was, he just shook his head slightly and said, "I have seen my better days, but I'm trying to deal with things. Would you please sit with me?" He motions to the chair opposite from him. |

Kirsi nods weakly and sits down in the chair offered. "I'm sorry to hear things aren't going well. Is there anything I can do to help?" She looks to ghoul, "Gustavo, could you be a dear and ask for an orange juice from the bar for me?" The man nods and does as she asks but doesn't let her out of his line of sight. |

After she sits, he sits down across the table. As she asks about what she can do to help he shakes his head, almost too soon, because the sad truth there was something she could do to help but it would likely never happened. He paused for a few moments before finally speaking, "I asked you here because I wanted to apologize for the way I hurt you. I know it doesn't make it right, but, I've gotten a taste of how you feel now. And it thoroughly sucks." He goes quiet, thinking it would probably be best if he didn't say alot. |

"You really think you love her, don't you?" Kirsi closes her eyes and shakes her head. "Let me tell you something a guy once told me, and it changed my whole life." She wets her lips. "There is no such thing as love. Not like in the movies or fairytales Neil... there's trust, there's compassion and empathy, but the rest is chemical reactions our bodies have that make us do things we wouldn't normally do to get things we want. The best thing you can ever hope for with someone is to find that person who compliments you best, who you can trust completely and feel safe sharing your weaknesses with, someone who gets you enough to understand when you need or want something from them but would give it to you anyway." She reaches a hand across the table and puts it on his hand briefly as she looks into his eyes with pity, "Your sire could never be your equal... your partner... she's always going to be more powerful than you Sabre and even if you and she both ignore that as best as you can, your beasts don't." She shrugs and pulls her hand away slowly. "Embracing someone isn't an act of love, it's an act of enslavement. It's a way to make sure someone will never leave you, that they will always have a bit of you with them, and always be weaker and thusly submissive to you." She tilts her head to the side to catch his eyes if he's trying to look away, "Don't believe me?" she reaches into her purse and produces a make up mirror and lays it on the table pushing it towards him so he can see himself. "Look what she's done to you without even using her powers. Her ability to hurt you, control you, manipulate you is greater than anything anyone else could ever do." Kirsi sighs. "I'm sorry for that Neil. Maybe some day you could be friends again and it won't hurt so badly. I mean, they say time makes all pain dull... eventually and you could live a very long time. Maybe things will work out for the best and Cross will grow bored of her, certainly he grew bored of his waiting on his wife to return from Europe fast enough." |

Sabre picks up the mirror and looks at himself, for the first time in weeks. He could see the weariness and self doubt in his eyes. All of the pain and agony he had been through, and for what? Someone who couldn't love him back the way he loved her. Then something clicked inside his head. He realized that he had never looked so bad and pitiful when he was with Kirsi. He looked up at her and said, "You're right. The worst part is, I've created my own personal hell because I didn't trust you." He pauses for a moment and says, "Have you ever heard the expression, 'You don't know what you've got, until its gone?'" |

Kirsi nods. "Unfortunately, I know it all too well. I never realized how much I would miss my mom, my dad or Papi until they died. None of them are here now, not even as ghosts and it kills me because right now, I really hate being alone." Kirsi looks at the floor and Gustavo puts a drink down on the table. "Thanks." She mutters to the ghoul who is already backing away to give the two of you privacy. "I know things aren't ideal right now but in time, maybe another decade or so, maybe things will calm down and trust can be rebuilt between you and me. Or, I suppose I should say maybe it could be built in your case... seeing how you really didn't start out with complete trust of me." She chortles and looks up at Sabre. "Stupid on my part to think you would, what with you being a vampire and all. You guys don't trust anyone and here I was thinking that somehow I'd managed to make you feel something that you can't and for someone you didn't know at all. I guess my stupid little girl way of thinking helped get us to this point too. So, we both bet on the wrong horse. You trusted your sire and Cross both and neither could put you before the things they wanted and I let myself believe a lie that I knew was a lie." She shrugs. "Don't tell cousin Tino that part, he still thinks I never really fell for you... the only part of this whole thing I didn't manage to fuck up." She laughs. "I know I'm preggers but I can still move pretty good, would you like to dance a little? Might be a way to cheer yourself up." |

Sabre looks up at her as she asks him to dance. He smiles at her and says, "As long as it is a slow dance. I've never been much for this bump and grind ass shaking stuff." He stands up and offers her his hand, then leads her to the VIP dance floor. "You do look stunning by the way. I don't think you've ever looked more beautiful actually." He slides his hand on to her hip and takes her other hand in his as he says, "Ten years? Would it really take that long to earn your trust in me?" |

"I was gonna say a lifetime." She smiles and winks at him. "Trust is more valuable than blood or money ... maybe more than souls even. It's how I was raised... and the family members I have who were actually raised around family are a lot worse about it so if you think I'm bad, don't expect better out of Tino." She shrugs. "Once broken it's nearly impossible to get back but you have the pleasure of not being family... a family member who is a traitor wouldn't have gotten off as easily as you. At least you're alive to prove you can learn from your mistakes, right?" A cover of Concrete Blonde's "Tomorrow Wendy" comes on and Kirsi slips into his arms like a hand into a tight leather glove. She fits perfectly there and together they move together like the gears inside a clock. Back and forth, to and fro in perfect time. "I want to know more about you Neil, so maybe I can understand why things have happened the way they did. Maybe you could tell me a bit more about yourself... more than the racing and boxing and everything you do to get people's approval. I know there is more to you than glory and skirt chasing... some reason for your need to gain other's approval while still proving you are your own man." |
